Marlyn Schiff started her career in the fashion industry in New York during the 1980s. She was in sales for various high-end clothing designers, such as Cynthia Steffe, Tahari, and Alfred Sung. While in this business she started creating jewelry and selling it to her accounts. The business grew rapidly and she was able to leave the garment center and start her own company in 1989.
