Sarah Cavender Metalworks Bracelets

Handcrafted Designer Jewelry

Sarah Cavender discovered the beauty and versatility of bronze screening and other wire materials while studying at the Philadelphia College of Art where she majored in sculpture. She developed a technique of treating and folding the material to create beautiful flower and bug sculptures, which has since expanded into a full line of designer jewelry. Each piece is plated or oxidized and then handpainted with bronze powders in a base of lacquer and sealed. The delightful colors are individually mixed and custom tinted.

After graduating from College in 1984, Sarah Cavender remained in Philadelphia and applied her skills and understanding of metal to develop a process of forming these materials into wonderful floral, leaf, insect and abstract forms. Constantly in search of uncommon and unique materials, Sarah Cavender maintains a design criteria in which each piece contains an element of woven wire.
