Kathleen Lamberti Earrings

Handcrafted Designer Jewelry

Kathleen Lamberti has always been interested in found natural objects, which she uses for her mixed fiber and metal jewelry. For Lamberti, the combination of fiber and metal creates a tension between soft and hard surfaces. As Katheen's concept of jewelry has expanded so has her use of materials. She began to experiment with fabric such as silk, felt, and leather, which gives a softness to the metal and enables her to work with color.

Kathleen made her first piece of jewelry in high school. She went on to receive a Bachelors in Design from Kansas University and a Masters in Fine Art from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has always been drawn to metal as a material. It has endless possibilities. In Africa, the metalsmith has a special place in the tribe because they believe the shaping of metal through the use of fire is magical. It is this magical quality that attracted her to metalsmithing.
