Designer Jewelry: Rings
Based in southern Vermont, Sajen began in 1987, when Marianna and Richard Jacobs lived in Bali, Indonesia. Influenced by the history and traditions of Bali, each item is handcrafted using
exotic gemstones and brilliant sterling silver. Marianna and Richard personally design each piece, which is then
handcrafted by Bali artisans with exquisite combinations of extraordinary stones.

Over the years their jewelry line has developed a style that is
unmistakably contemporary, yet exhibit a subtle ethnic character. The result is an extraordinary and contemporary jewelry, with just a hint of Balinese culture. In 1987, Marianna and Richard Jacobs lived in a thatched roof bamboo house in the rice paddies of Ubud, the cultural center of Bali, Indonesia. As a graduate student at Yale School of Art, Richard won a Luce Scholarship to paint in Bali. Marianna spent the year working in a silver factory, creating jewelry and learning the ancient secrets of the
Balinese master silversmiths.
